Thousands Fill The Streets Of Surigao City
Thousands of dancers and spectators packed the streets of Surigao City in the southern Philippines on Wednesday for a festival blending indigenous tradition, harvest rituals and Catholic devotion.
Footage shows colourful banderitas lining the streets as large groups perform choreographed dances before cheering crowds. Musicians play traditional instruments, while elaborately dressed performers dance outside San Nicolas de Tolentino Cathedral.
Festival Honours St Nicholas De Tolentino
“The hard work and effort of Surigaonons, like business owners, tricycle drivers, and everyone else, is offered to St Nicholas de Tolentino,” a participant said.
