Sun Pictures has locked in the release date for Rajinikanth’s much-awaited sequel. “Jailer 2” will hit theatres worldwide on 15 October, timed to coincide with the Ayudha Pooja holidays in India. The festive slot should give the film a solid theatrical run, with plenty of room to pull in family crowds over the break.On the production front, the team has wrapped remaining patchwork and reshoots – including Hrithik Roshan’s much-anticipated cameo alongside Rajinikanth, a pairing that’s already got fans anticipating.
The Superstar returns
Following the first film’s lead, “Jailer 2” is shaping up to be another star-studded affair, with Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi and Mithun Chakraborty reportedly joining in key and special-appearance roles.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the sequel stars Rajinikanth alongside SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Vidya Balan, Suraj and Yogi Babu, with music by Anirudh Ravichander. Anticipation is building fast for what’s shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest Tamil releases
