LOS ANGELES – It is an exceptionally busy year for American actress Zendaya and English actor Robert Pattinson, whose careers intersect in three high-profile movies.
Their first film together is The Drama, a dark romantic comedy about a couple whose happy relationship is tested by an unexpected revelation right before their wedding. It opens in Singapore cinemas on April 16.
The pair will also co-star in two of the year’s most anticipated releases.
In Christopher Nolan’s fantasy epic The Odyssey in July, she plays the goddess of war Athena, while he is the main human antagonist Antinous.
And for Denis Villeneuve’s space opera Dune: Part Three in December, Zendaya – reprising her role as rebellious Fremen warrior Chani – may have had a hand in Pattinson joining the cast as a new character, he says.
At the Los Angeles premiere of The Drama in March, they reveal why they enjoy working with each other.
