SINGAPORE - A 31-year-old man died in hospital on Oct 3 after his motorcycle was believed to have skidded near the Ubi area.

In response to queries, the police said they were alerted to the accident at the junction of Bedok Reservoir and Jalan Eunos at about 8pm.

The motorcyclist was unconscious when he was taken to the hospital, where he later died. He had been taken to Changi General Hospital, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

Police investigations are ongoing.

When The Straits Times arrived at about 8.20pm, two ambulances and multiple police motorbikes were at the scene. A large crowd had gathered on both sides of the road.

At least eight paramedics were seen taking turns to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the victim.

The paramedics then loaded the victim onto a stretcher before carrying him into an ambulance.

, the number of accidents involving motorcyclists rose by 9.5 per cent to 2,088 in the first half of 2025, compared to the 1,907 accidents that occurred in the first half of the previous year.

The number of deaths involving motorcyclists and pillion riders - 43 - accounted for 54.4 per cent of the 79 road deaths, with motorcyclists and pillion riders involved in 54.7 per cent of all traffic accidents in the first half of the year.

The top three causes were identified as a failure to keep a proper lookout, a failure to have proper control, and changing lanes without due care, the report said.
