SINGAPORE - Snaking queues have been spotted at various McDonald’s outlets across the island as the fast-food giant gave away 36,000 McCrispy burgers to celebrate the burger’s launch on Sept 4.

The McCrispy burger features a crispy, batter-coated chicken thigh patty, a smoky sauce and a soft potato bun.

Postings on various social media platforms showed people queueing at outlets from Toa Payoh Lorong 4 to Buona Vista’s Metropolis.

A TikTok video posted by user makesvaran666 showed a long line spilling out one of the fast-food giant’s outlets near Toa Payoh central.

Speaking to The Straits Times, Ms Fiona Tan, who joined the queue at the outlet in Metropolis shortly after 2pm, said that there were between 30 and 40 people in front of her.

She said that she managed to get her hands on the burger within 15 mins of joining it.

Ms Tan also said that customers were ushered into the store in small groups of about four to five people, adding that the process was systematic and swift.

After eating the burger, she described the chicken patty as crispy and tasty, adding that the burger was still warm when she received it.

The limited giveaway could only be redeemed in-store from 2pm to 5pm on the day, and was limited to the first 250 redemptions at each outlet on a first-come, first served basis.

These customers would also receive a voucher to get 20 per cent off their next McCrispy meal order.
