RAIPUR: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur executive director and CEO Lt Gen (Dr) Ashok Jindal (retd) represented the institute at the prestigious S3 Conference 2025 held in Singapore from November 5–7.
The international forum, themed “Integrating Simulation; Future-Proofing Practice,” was hosted by the SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Medical Simulation (SIMS) in collaboration with the Society for Simulation in Europe (SESAM) and the Gathering of Healthcare Simulation Technology Specialists (SimGHOSTS). As a key speaker at the global event that brought together leading medical educators, innovators, and healthcare technology specialists from around the world, Lt Gen Jindal delivered a presentation on “Simulators in Public Health”, highlighting the transformative role of simulation in strengthening academic training, healthcare delivery, and emergency preparedness. Calling simulation an “insurance policy for population health,” Lt Gen Jindal stressed that simulated learning environments enhance coordination, decision-making, and crisis readiness through tabletop, virtual, and full-scale exercises. He also showcased AIIMS Raipur’s advancements in medical simulation training, including its collaboration with the American Heart Association (AHA). Through this partnership, over 10,000 people in Chhattisgarh have been trained in Hands-Only CPR using high-fidelity and VR-based technologies — a milestone in community life-saving education.
AIIMS Raipur’s delegation, comprising Prof (Dr) Debendra Kumar Tripathy, head, Trauma and Emergency, and Aast Prof (Dr) Naman Agrawal, also played a significant role in the conference. Dr Tripathy presented his work on improving emergency systems through human factors engineering, while Dr. Agrawal demonstrated innovative game-based triage training methods that make emergency learning more engaging and effective.
