F1 Singapore Grand Prix welcomes sell-out crowd of 300,641 fans over race weekend

SINGAPORE – The

Formula One Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix

has proven to be a hit with local and international fans once again, with organisers announcing on Oct 5 a total attendance of 300,641 for the 2025 edition.

This is 11.7 per cent more compared to the 269,072 fans who packed the Marina Bay Street Circuit for the three-day race weekend in 2024, and the second highest after a record turnout of 302,000 in 2022.

The record was set before the route was amended to omit the Float @ Marina Bay, which could seat 27,000, with the revision made for the construction of NS Square.

The 16th edition of the night race could see the crowning of the Constructors’ champions in Singapore for the first time since the event’s inauguration in 2008, with McLaren needing just 13 points on Oct 5 to retain their title.

Oscar Piastri and Singapore defending champion Lando Norris will start third and fifth on the grid respectively and will seal the deal if they hold their positions.

The spotlight will be on

Mercedes George Russell

, who took a surprise pole after topping the timesheets in qualifying on Oct 4 in a track record of 1min 29.158sec, ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen (1:29.340) and Piastri (1:29.524).

With 10 of the previous 15 Singapore Grands Prix won from pole, the 27-year-old will be targeting a second victory this season, following his win in Canada in June.
